Priorities

The community of Hampton, New Hampshire has enjoyed activities and programs provided by the Parks and Recreation Department and Lane Memorial Library for decades at the Tuck Building and Lane Memorial Library. The Tuck building, rebuilt in 2001 and the Lane Library, built in 1985, need more gathering space to meet the growing needs of the Hampton community. Both aging buildings also need physical updates so that they can continue to be community spaces in the future.

The vision is to be the hub of Hampton, with the Recreation Department and Lane Memorial Library’s new community center being within easy walking distance to Hampton Academy, Centre School, Marston School, and Winnacunnet High School, as well as several parks and neighborhoods. This envisioned space sits at the center of our town.

At a future date, the departments will pursue the creation of a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. The organization’s sole goal will be to seek private funds from community partners. Such partners might include foundations or corporations who understand the need to provide a new facility that is more accessible and meets the needs of the families in this growing area to offset the cost of the facility.

Gather Support

Invite our community partners, businesses, and residents to join the conversation through outreach efforts.

Envision the Future

In three to five years the collaboration will pursue conceptual designs that can be presented to the community.

Secure Funding

Create a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose sole function will be fundraising for the project.

Create New Partnerships

The Library Board of Trustees and Board of Selectmen will work together on creating memorandums of understanding related to the administration and financing of the facility.
